Not sure why the white bike is cheaper than the black bike at this time. It's too bad because I prefer the black bike.
Delivery was a bit faster than originally expected (onl y three weeks, instead of the full month originally s tated). This, and the convenience of being able to order a bicycle and all the parts an obese rider would require in a sing le package would normally make this an excellent shopping exp erience. However, the order didn't include an assembly or user's manual, and www.SuperSizedCycles.com doesn't have any manuals available for download for this specific model. Fortunately a Google search was able to turn up the original equipment manufacturer, Worksman Cycles Factory Direct www.worksmancycles.com), and their website provided reasonably thorough documentation, though I probably would have been at a loss to utilize it if I hadn't any experience with bike assembly and repair.
I can't really fault them for this, though, as they do specifically re commend having their bikes assembled at a licensed repair shop, and presumably said shop would be able to locate the assembly instructions themselves with ease. It did hurt to se e them selling the same bike model for $300 less than I paid, but I figured Super Sized Cycles had fitted the bike with special reinforcements, especially with all the mechanisms carefully calibrated and trued, to safely su pport the weight of a morbidly obese rider (specificall y, myself). At least, until the lower head tube race literally dr opped clean out of the frame as I was clamping it t o the workstand. Caliper measurements showed only a 0.01 mm interface be tween the outside of the race and inside of the tube (standard is 0.1 to 0.2 mm); apparently the "teeth" on the outside of the race were intended to grip the paint or something, and they obviously did not.
The paint itself had already started to flake off inside the box, but r emoving the packing material pulled off further huge chunks of it, so I will probably end up stripping it and re-paintin g. It seems the paint job was by Worksman Cycles rather than Super Sized Cycles, though the failure to check the race interface i sn't as easily dismissed. I will probably have to dust off al l my disused wheel-truing and measuring equipment to m ake sure the bike is safe to ride before I can start getting any exercise, but then that would also be done at any reputable bike shop during assembly. In short, my shopping experience was generally mediocre. The products were delivered exactly as promised, to the letter, though certainly not the spirit. Given that I had to also buy a headset press and tube of LocTite to pr operly assemble the bike, though, it's hard to say that I got m y money's worth. (It was cheaper than having the bike assembled at the only licensed bike shop in town... they w anted $120 to perform this service, nearly the cost of one of their own bikes!)
When I tried to add the bike to my shopping cart it asked me to select the size I wanted and there is only one size available. Pricing for the water bottle rack and water bottle combo was also not listed so I would like to see that added.
Shipment came in just as requested ,Packaged neatly and not all beat up when it arrived . Bike and Items were all there . Good transaction Thanks
Offer options for each bike at checkout like the extra battery, optional seats for comparison and choice, battery charger, etc. Since you have a checklist to help people choose a great bike for over 200 lbs, design your bike pages to explain the changes you have made to make the bikes sturdier and why some still will have aluminum frames but be fine for up to 300lbs.
The New Leafs sturdy frame was a virtue to James G arrison, who appeared on the ABC program Extreme Makeover: Weight-Loss Edition. His Super Sized bike was the most enjoyable part of his diet and exercise regimen on his journey from 694 pounds to 313 pound s. Garrison weighed about 500 pounds when he started riding a New Leaf bike religiously every day. Joan, I took the bike to a local shop and they put it togeth er for me. There were a few other things that I wanted to get added and I did. You might want to look into the seat in the future because Bont reger (sp) makes a styleish bigger seat that is much more comfortable. T he seat that I had put on is used by Trek on their touring type mountain bi kes. The guys at the bike shop said the bike was high quality and a very sm ooth ride (I think that they all tried it out). They were very impress ed. Overall I am really happy and as you said it was well worth the wait. I hope that more people discover the site and order more bikes. Thanks again and I hope to stay in contact from time to time.
I love you! I used to be an avid bike rider 10 years ago and have wanted to get back to it. However, like you I was too afraid to that my current weight would collapse a regular bike and cause serious injury. I have been looking for a bike for large riders for some time now, and am so happy to have found one.
Thank you for your quick response time. I am really excited about my new bike as I have had to stop biking years ago because of my size. I am 21 years old and am currently a college student. I hope that you know the impact that you are making in the fat community. Most companies don't really care because the biggest target area isn't large people. Thank you again.

The trike is fantastic. After a week of rides my legs began working again and my old energy increased all my bad thoughts disappeared. My blood circulation feels normal again and best of all I didn't have to use that Schwinn recombinant exercise thing while watching TV. I try to ride about five plus miles each day. Thundershowers are the stumbling block. I have made a whole new contingent of friends both on the ride to the Sanford Riverwalk and at the Veterans Memorial Park. Not a day goes by when someone calls out, that they would like to have one of them there bikes. I have passed out at least 20 cards with info on the bike. I know the number because I print them up 10 at a time. At the Car Show yesterday a professional Photographer took my picture with my helmet on. He said he would send me a copy.
I just wanted to drop you a line & let you know that the Zize bike I ordered has been great thus far! I've even used it throughout the rugged winters here in Alaska & it continues to hold up nicely. I have just one suggestion for your future customers...the bike really should include a kickstand. I had to go out & purchase one myself, that seemed odd that the bike didn't have one. Anyways, take care for now & best wishes in the future! I really like the bike :-)
Thanks so much for offering bikes like this! I am so glad that you are providing these bicycles. My son, who the bike is for, is mentally challenged and he loves to ride his bike. Bikes were never big enough so we would go through lots of tires, rims, and frames. Again I thank you.
Buying a bike that was able to support me was a major step in getting more exercise and living a better life, plus it's also helped me get to places without walking or taking a bus. I've lost over 100 pounds since I purchased my bike.
This is a very :user friendly" site, easy to understand and navigate.

As for the motor, if used as an assist, with its chain drive (unlike earlier Currie models with a small belt) I see no problem there either. Misuse or overuse of the motor can cause damage to a bike and motor no matter what you weigh. I can only assume that you had not looked carefully at all the modifications that we do. Thank you for your feedback. I welcome it anytime.
This is a wonderful bike. I love that I ride upright on the Time of Your Life. It prevents the numb hands I sometimes get with other bikes. It's great to know I can stop and touch the ground without having to hop off the seat-it makes me feel a lot safer!
I purchased a Supersized Tricruiser and love it. At 73 years of age and 275 lbs. I needed a trike that was strong and comfortable. I manually use the trike for exercise, but if I am winded and a distance from home, on goes the motor and home I go. I also have C.O.P. D..
The weather has gotten warm enough in Maryland to ride our new PAV. We are very pleased with the construction and quality of the bike itself. The feeling of freedom is great and people are interested in the cycle. A few points for improvement would be a longer hand brake cable so that the brake can be moved to a more comfortable position and the use of better quality materials in the 'roof'. The plastic panel is cheap and doesn't really work well. We are having a better one made out of sunbrella material. Although we ordered a basket they sent it with a box - which we like very much. My wife likes it so much that we are considering ordering one for her in the near future. Thanks for all your help in the ordering process. The bike was easy to assemble - it took longer to break up the shipping crate!!! I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.! Talk to you soon.
I got the "new leaf" in December. It's a great bike; has a great ride and feel. After 30 years of being idle I have become an avid bike rider. a very comfortable bike and easy to transport, too
I recv'd my New Leaf and was very happy that it came quickly and w/ no damage to the shipping box. Assembly was straight forward and was completed without a problem. First impression after assy. was, this is a solid, well built, adult bike. I took the bike for a spin and the bike felt stable and smooth. It felt real good to have the wind hit my face like it used to when I was younger. I'm looking forward to exploring the parks and doing Saturday morning chores on my new bike. FYI I am 6' 3" and 320lbs. and the bike doesn't seem to mind one bit. I wish success to supersizedcycles.com because they are serving an under appreciated market.
I purchased the PAV3 in January '10 and have been very pleased with it. The trike is one of the better built tricycles on the market. It is very study and drives beautifully. A word of caution-it takes a while to learn how to drive (not ride) the PAV. If you are not careful while turning you can tip the PAV on its side. I am a senior citizen and you can not go racing around with it. Dozens of people have stopped me and asked about my little red trike. Great tricycle.
